Flagship noteholders approve extension to 2030

Flagship Investments said in its 10 September update that holders of its existing FSIGA convertible notes approved a rollover at the 7 September meeting. The maturity date moves to 1 October 2030, and the interest rate rises to 7.25% a year from 1 October 2026. The issuer also identifies a possible further step-up from October 2028.

The company said the rollover changes the existing notes and does not involve issuing new convertible notes. For shareholders and noteholders, this is a change to the financing timetable and interest terms. The next stated milestone is the new coupon taking effect on 1 October. The existing notes remain financing obligations under the amended terms.

WAM Leaders reports an A$313 million capital raise

WAM Leaders said on 3 September that its share purchase plan and placement had raised a combined A$313 million. The share purchase plan closed on 1 September, contributing A$88 million from more than 4,700 shareholders. Its final issue price was A$1.294 per share.

The company said the additional capital would be invested across Australian large-cap companies. A capital raising increases the money available to invest and the number of shares on issue; it does not itself establish a gain for each shareholder.

What to watch: subsequent portfolio and cash disclosures as the proceeds are invested. The release also schedules a 4.8-cent fully franked final dividend for 30 November. Future dividends remain dependent on profits reserves and franking credits.

PIC explains August NTA around its final dividend

Perpetual Equity Investment Company’s 14 September update reports August-end pre-tax net tangible assets of A$1.225 per share with the final dividend entitlement included. After allowing for the 4-cent final dividend, the corresponding figure was A$1.185. The report dates the ex-dividend event to 8 September and schedules payment for 1 October.

This distinction matters when comparing monthly NTA figures: an adjustment for a dividend should not automatically be read as an investment loss. These are unaudited, approximate values for 31 August, not current market prices.

What to watch: subsequent NTA disclosures on a consistent dividend basis. The update also notes PIC’s transition towards monthly dividends and an AGM and investment-manager update scheduled for 15 October.

MXT's August report separates fund and market returns

Metrics Master Income Trust’s August report records a distribution of 1.46 cents per unit, compared with 1.44 cents in July. Its August NAV-based net return was 0.72%, after fund fees and costs. The report separately shows a return of minus 0.57% using the traded unit price and distributions.

Update, 2 October 2026. These August observations were reported before the 28 and 30 September valuation, audit and suspension announcements. They have not been adjusted or recertified here following the subsequent announcements and must not be read as current valuations or evidence of an ability to transact. IIR’s MXT rating is under review and the prior rating is not reaffirmed. Read the 2 October Metrics ratings notice.

Those figures measure different experiences: the first follows the fund’s underlying net asset value; the second reflects the price available in the listed market as well as income. The distribution is already part of the reported return measures, so adding it again would double-count income.

What to watch: the next report’s NAV, traded-price return and distribution together. One month’s distribution is not a promise of future income, and past returns do not predict future results.

JPEQ and JPHQ confirm September distributions

J.P. Morgan Asset Management confirmed the September cash distributions for JPEQ and JPHQ on 15 September. The amounts are 56.2537 cents per unit for the JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income Complex ETF (JPEQ) and 53.4435 cents for its hedged counterpart (JPHQ).

The notice gives an ex-distribution date of 14 September, a record date of 15 September and a payment date of 13 October. Those dates describe entitlement and payment timing; the amounts are not annual yields. The issuer also cautions that future distributions are not guaranteed and that a fund’s unit price typically adjusts for a distribution. This is a new monthly payment announcement for funds already included in the newsletter’s ETF universe, rather than a new fund launch.

About these news briefs

Corporate items and priority coverage in IIR’s newsletter help identify developments to follow. Each news brief is checked against a dated public issuer announcement. A report’s measurement period, an announcement date and the date a brief is added are separate.

This is selected coverage of LICs, LITs, ETFs and their managers. Historical items retain their original dates. The individual news summaries do not themselves assign a fund rating. The separately dated 2 October 2026 notice above records IIR’s under-review status for MXT, MOT and MDIF.
